Welcome Back Snow Season 2008/2009

It's the start of December, school has been cancelled and your plow fleet is hitting the ground running. Isn't it great to be back in the swing of things for winter?

But how can you make sure things continue to go as great as they've started? Preventative maintenance is the key.

Your Craig snow gear has been designed to give you years of efficient performance. Make sure you follow our best practices for routine maintenance.

  1. Check moldboard, swing frame, push frame, and hookup for cracks, broken welds or loose bolts.
  2. Ensure that the cutting edge extends at least 1/4" beyond the moldboard (replace as necessary)
  3. Check that trip springs have not been over compressed and there is no play in their mounts. Replace any worn springs
  4. Check chains or down pressure arms for bends or cracks.
  5. Check for leaking or damaged hydraulic lines, fittings and cylinders.
  6. Check plow grease fittings and lubricate daily during use.
  7. Wing assemblies should have their front post, rear post (if equipped) and bell swivels lubricated daily during use
  8. Check all controls for smooth operation. Bleed air from hydraulic system if present.

Paint The First Layer of Protection

First impressions matter. Whether you're an equipment owner or a dealer it's important that your machine instills confidence. Nothing will ruin this faster than lack-luster paint, or rust.

All Craig Attachments are finished in our in-house downdraft paint booth. Doing so ensures that the metal has been pre-heated allowing the two-stage epoxy primer to cure to a uniform 4.0 mil thickness before accepting the 2.0 mil coloured top coat. We paint in all OEM standard colours and specialty colours are available upon request.

When we're at trade-shows it's not uncommon for people to ask where we sent our buckets to be clear-coated for the show. Our new customers are always surprised when we tell them that's our standard finish. If it needs to work, it needs to look good. Whether at the dealership or on the jobsite Craig Attachments make a lasting impression. Find out more by contacting your local rep at sales@craig-mfg.com or call 1-800-565-5007
