The race is not over
Months before the Olympics, Craig Manufacturing recognized the effort and sacrifices that the athletes were making to compete at the elite level. Craig decided to help an athlete by making a 5 year financial commitment to the selected person. It was a difficult choice but Robbie Dixon was selected based on his strong family ties (raised by a single Mom and his Grand Parents), his work ethic and his personal victory over many obstacles- including a 40 percent hearing loss. His website is www.robbiedixon.ca

A member of the World Cup Racing Team, Robbie was thrilled to represent Canada in Alpine events. Rated as someone to watch, Robbie pushed his limits. Even though his best result was the 24th in the Giant Slalom, Robbie sees the positive aspect of the experience.
“Skiing at home in my backyard in front of my friends and family for the best country in the whole world is an experience I will never forget! Although the racing part was not what I had in mind I definitely learned some valuable lessons for the next Olympics in Sochi, Russia. I have a lot of racing to do between now and then and I believe over those next four years I will learn and gain more of what I need to succeed in the quest for an Olympic medal.”
Robbie and Craig share the understanding that continual effort to improve is what provides success. Craig is proud to support this hard working and talented skier as he strives to reach his goals.
